Nigerian superstar Davido and wife Chioma welcome twins

A video has surfaced online showing Nigerian superstar musician David Adedeji Adeleke, a.k.a. Davido, and his wife, Chioma Avril Rowland, taking their newborn twins out of a hospital in the United States.

The couple is reported to have welcomed the twins on October 10 at a hospital in Atlanta, Nigeria’s Punch Newspaper reporter said on Facebook on Friday.

One of the earliest posts about the news was done by popular Nigerian music executive Samklef on X and Instagram this afternoon.

He posted a video showing a smiling Chioma on a wheel chair clutching the two babies.

On the left stands a seemingly joyous Davido, who adjusts the cap on one of the baby’s heads.

In the video, a voice could be heard commenting, “Hello world, we are getting out of North Side Hospital. This is our mom, and this is our dad. Grandpa is the photographer… We’re having our first car ride in Grandpa’s car. Our first ride is a Bentley.”

The double blessing for the couple comes after they lost their first son, Ifeanyi, in October last year at their Lagos mansion.

Different Nigerian bloggers, entertainers, and celebrities have now widely shared the video, with many of them wishing the young couple luck.

Davido Bashes Samklef

Information about Davido’s twins has been circulating on Nigerian social media platforms since October 10.

But it remained a rumour, as no one had obtained any visuals or other factual confirmation of it.

On October 11, Davido tried to wade off reports about his wife giving birth to twins by tweeting, “Stop sharing old pictures, thank you.”

But Samklef confirmed what people had been speculating by posting the video that has now flooded Nigerian news and entertainment blogs.

Terming the twins a “double blessing”, Samklef also wrote under the video that the twins were a boy and a girl.

But amid the jubilation and congratulations messages showered on Davido and Chioma, the singer was rather bitter about it.

He hurled insults at Samklef in the comment section. One of the comments read, “Delete, please; you’re a wicked person”.

Another said, “You know you’re not meant to post this”.

However, the music executive says he is not pulling it down. Moreso, the video had long spiralled to hundreds of platforms, and it would be impossible to withdraw it.

On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, Chioma and Davido lost their first son to the cold hands of death when he drowned in an outdoor pool. Adeleke Ifeanyi died at age of three.

Millions across the world joined the Afrobeat singer and Chioma to mourn their lost son. Weeks later, there were reports that the pair tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony.

None of them has made a statement to confirm the rumour, but Davido has since referred to Chioma as his “wife”.

We at MMI wish Chioma and Davido all the best. May God bless their newborn baby and keep them well and safe!
