Nke Jean Dieudonne appointed new PWD Bamenda coach

PWD Bamenda Football Club has appointed a new coach named Nke Jean Dieudonne.

In a release made public today, September 29, 2023, Nke Dieudonne was appointed as the head of the football club alongside seven other people.

They include Tama Wango, who has been appointed as Director of Football; Anumewa Franklin A. as Assistant Head Coach; Ndjiena Fred Patrick as Goalkeeper Trainer; Dr. Damkam Patrice as Team Doctor; Ngomseu Frank Djoute as Physiotherapist; and Woumeni Guy Bertrand as Team Manager.

The changes, according to the statement, were made in preparation for the “participation of PWD Social Football Club Bamenda in the upcoming National Elite One Championship that starts on September 27”.

The appointment comes a few hours after the dismissal of Bep Constantin as well as the goalkeeper trainer, Liye Zogo Pascal Bienvenue after the team failed to win the Cameroon Cup finals on Sunday.

The former coach had led PWD through 13 games, won eight, drew three, and lost two. He joined the club midway through last season, and his deal with the club was to run till the end of the season.

The PWD management felt disappointed after the Abakwa Boys lost 2-0 to Fovu de Baham at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium, a defeat Mr. Abunde described as “a bitter pill to swallow.”

Before his appointment, NKE Dieudonne served as head coach for a good number of Cameroonian football clubs, like l’Union des Mouvements Sportifs (UMS) de Loum and Canon Sportif de Yaoundé.

In 2018, he was sacked by UMS Loum, who claimed he was not up to task.

In 19 days of the championship, Dieudonné Nke recorded nine (09) victories, six (06) draws, and four (04) defeats. A performance deemed insufficient by UMS Loum’s top management
