Nkongsamba: Man tortures wife to near death for speaking dialect with child

A lady whose name we got as Emelda Bih has been tortured to near death by her husband.

The husband reportedly pounced on her for speaking Oku language with their child.

The couple, said to be internally displaced persons are residing in a locality in Nkongsamba, Littoral Region of Cameroon.

According to sources, the only crime Emelda, who hails from Oku in the North West, committed was the fact that she spoke to their child in her dialect.

Meanwhile the husband, who according to sources originates from Douala, was unable to withstand the idea of nurturing his child with a dialect which is not his.

“yesterday, she was beaten to the point of near death by the husband, because she spoke Oku language to her child,” a source revealed.

While the lady is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital in Nkongsamba, the husband has been put under police custody.

The practice of domestic violence has recently witnessed a skyrocketing increase in our society.
