Elite clubs in the North West region have intensified preparations ahead of the start of the new football season with the elite one and two set to start on March 12, 2022.
Cup of Cameroon finalists, PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda who have been training for the finals of the cup of Cameroon have engaged in several friendly matches.
Last weekend, the team played against fellow elite one side, Yong Sports Academy, and will play the same opponent this Saturday.
Yong Sports Academy on their part has also been training and perfecting its system of play after many of its key players left the team at the end of last season.
In the elite two championships, Foncha Street FC is working towards correcting their wrongs of the last two seasons where they were relegation candidates.
Meanwhile, elite two debutants, Rangers FC Bafut after winning the Bamenda Pre-season Solidarity tournament have also continued training ahead of the championship. Coach Anumewa Franklin is putting in place a young and competitive squad.
As for the Women’s division one and two championships, Vision Sports FC of Bamenda in the female division one championship has been training since the start of the year.
Ita Mbong FC in the division two championship has most of their players training in Yaounde, Douala, and Bamenda respectively. They are expected to assemble in Bamenda soon.
