One killed as suspected separatists attack convoy guarding Source du Pays trucks

A member of the Cameroon armed forces has lost his life in an attack by armed men believed to be separatist fighters in the country’s South West Region.

He was lead member in a convoy guarding trucks belonging to water production company, Source du Pays with base in Muyuka in the troubled South West Region.

The convoy was attacked earlier today as they went about their regular duty, guarding the company’s trucks.

The Sergeant popularly known as Bago is said to have given up the ghost in hospital shortly after he was injured in the attack.

The amount of damage incurred during the attack remains unknown.

Since the armed conflict in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon started, countless attacks of this nature have been carried out by separatist fighters who continue to battle against the army to create a break away state.
