Osih survives SDF dismissal as Ni John Fru Ndi chairs NEC meeting

As the Social Democratic Front (SDF) leadership converged in Yaoundé on June 12 for their National Executive Committee meeting, all ears were on what the NEC would choose to do concerning the fate of Honorable Joshua Osih, the First National Vice President of the party.

Following Osih’s signature inclusion in the infamous memorandum sent to the U.S. Senate by mostly CPDM Parliamentarians, demanding the U.S senators to amongst other things stop interfering into Cameroonian politics and giving “False notions” of the Anglophone Crisis, Osih’s SDF membership had been hanging on a thin thread.

Despite several calls made for the SDF Parliamentarian to withdraw his signature from the letter, he stood firm and damned the consequences.

Several SDF bigwigs championed by Honorable Michel Nintcheu advocated for the dismissal of the Parliamentarian from the party as they deemed his actions against the will of the people whom he represents.

A final decision was however arrived at during the NEC meeting in Yaoundé, whereby the article 8.2 that was proposed by Hon Nintcheu was not used.

NEC highlighted more on the need for the party cohesion and reconciliation as it struggles to regain its place at the very top of Cameroon politics.
