Outrage in Bahouan after a teacher is accused of rape

The air has remained tense at the Lycée Classique de Bahouan in the West Region as the Discipline Master of the school was accused of raping a 15-year-old student of Form 4.

Information has it that the whole affair happened when the student called Kemogné Anais was summoned by the Discipline Master into his office on Monday after confiscating her phone.

After having been violated by the teacher, Anaïs reported the case to higher authorities.

Summoned by the Principal and council of teachers, the Discipline Master denied the accusations and accused his colleagues of working with students to tarnish his image.

The reason for this, he says, was due to the fact that he got promoted to the level of Discipline Master which made his other colleagues jealous of him.

“I am a victim of relentlessness and cheap blackmail from my colleagues and students in this school… By the way, the day which I am said to have committed this act, I was sick and I wonder how a sick person can afford to commit such stupidity… I did not rape Anaïs,” he told the principal.

15-year-old Anaïs, on her part, gave a complete different account of what happened.

“On that day he called me into his office and asked me if I had a boyfriend…,” she started. “I told him no. He told me to stop pretending, saying that I am not a little girl. He then returned to me my phone and then closed the door to his office. He kissed me, undressed me and began touching me unnecessarily…”

With this statement from Anaïs, the population which had been alerted and was present during the council hearing almost took the matters into their hands and wanted to outrightly lynch the Discipline Master. The police was alerted about the situation. The teacher was taken to custody while further investigations are still ongoing.
