Panic as gun battle rocks Mbengwi-Bamenda road again

There is panic along the Bamenda-Mbengwi road in the North West region of Cameroon as heavy gunshots rock the air.

“… at Mbengwi road bamenda, there are heavy gun shots. We don’t if they are bombs. One just felt at my neighbor’s house and it caught we fire” a local tells Mimi Mefo Info.

The source adds that the flame was eventually out out, but not without damage to the roof.

“Some other two houses at Nchinde quarter were also affected” he says, adding that locals are all seeking safety.

Gun battles are common in localities in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon as soldiers clash with separatist fighters.
