The President of Popular Action Party (PAP) has expressed indignation over Hon. Joshua Osih’s signing of a petition against US Congressmen on the security situation in the anglophone regions of Cameroon.
In an open letter March 16th 2021, the leader of the political party reminded Hon. Joshua Osih of his ancestral roots and the need to put general interest first before personal benefits.
” Hon. Joshua Osih is a native of Toko village in Ndian division; one of the worst hit division by the ongoing crisis. A division whose inhabitants are seeking refuge in Nigeria and USA for fear of bullets or indiscriminate shooting from the army”.
To Njang Denis Tabe, by signing the petition, Hon. Joshua Osih has committed a life time poltical blunder that warrants a strong disciplinary action from the Social Democratic Front, SDF, where Hon. Joshua Osih holds the position of first vice president.
“I was expecting SDF national executive meeting to request an immediate withdrawal of Osih’s signature and for him to tender an open apology to the oppressed people in the restive regions and Cameroon in general,” said Njang.
The leader of PAP sounding disappointed said, “The decision of NEC on Osih is empty, provocative and vindictive of the insinuation of anglophone people and Cameroon about the position of SDF in the ongoing war and Cameroon politics”.
Despite Hon. Joshua Osih’s explanation that by signing the petition it was a means to further place the crisis in an international scene, the leader of PAP sees this as a betrayal to those who voted him as MP.
Njang Denis Tabe cautions electorates and Cameroonians that “… people should understand that choosing a political platform for a new political era, the public and declarations of such leaders or party should be above the monetary and material condition influence. “
