Passengers heading to Boyo Division of the North West Region of Cameroon, have not been able to exit Bamenda since Wednesday.
The road was blocked in the morning of June 14th, 2023.
The road has since been impassable, according to travellers.
Separatist Fighters in Kejom Keku (Big Babanki) had passed an order, banning circulation on that stretch of road which is linking Bambui- Babanki- Belo- Fundong.
Vehicles plying the road on Tuesday were blocked by the fighters leaving business persons and many others stranded in Bamenda at Mobile Nkwen.
“The road users were advised not to venture on any journey along the road till further notice,” a source told MMI.
Patients have been most affected as they are unable to travel to the Mbingo Baptist Hospital in Belo to receive medical care.
The action, according to Separatists follows the deployment of security forces in Big Babanki.
The soldiers were deployed to the village on Saturday, June 11 2023, following a request from the traditional ruler, HRH Benjamin Vutsiboung.
The Fon had requested the troops to “protect the population from Separatist brutality.”
The Ambazonian fighters who have been fighting for the independence of Southern Cameroons have warned that any vehicle plying the blocked stretch of road will be attacked or or set on fire.
The heavy deployment of troops in Big Babanki, has not been able to address the issue which is now affecting the lives of hundreds of villagers.
