Passengers undergo compulsory coronavirus test as one dies on transit

The body of Onana Epse Wang Serge has been deposited at the Laquintinie hospital mortuary in Douala. The 44 year old woman was confirmed dead by Dr. Mekoulo David of the hospital.

It all started at about 5 pm Sunday March 29 when passengers on board a 70 seater bus belonging to Buca Voyage travelling from Yaounde to Douala discovered that the said woman died in the bus around Edea in in the Sanaga Maritime division in the Littoral region.

The passengers then alerted road security officials that escorted the bus to the hospital with all the passengers including the body of the woman.

At the Laquintinie hospital, the body of the woman was deposited in the mortuary. All passengers got tested of coronavirus and the bus disinfected before handing it over to the agency.

Onana Epse Wang Serge was a worker at the University of Douala. She is said to have got to the bus in Yaounde seemingly in good health.

An indepth test on the body is espected to determine the cause of the death.
