The Moderator of Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, says two separate fire incidents at Presbyterian Secondary School, PSS, Mankon in Bamenda, North West Region affected property of students in three dormitories.
In a release published Sunday, January 24th, 2021, Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel Forba says “…the property of some students has been affected. The source of the fire incidents is yet to be ascertained”.
Going by the release, students in affected dormitories have been relocated with the Presbyterian Education Secretary and the administration working to cater for the students.
Rt. Rev Fonki has not given precision on the things damaged by the flames. He has however expressed gratitude to people who helped to put out the flames.
The Moderator calls on parents and the public to collaborate to offer the best education to kids despite the challenges.
Following the fire incidents, there has been suspicion that it can be an attack by armed separatists fighting for the restoration of a state they call Ambazonia.
