Philanthropist Barber embarks on personal initiative to help less privileged by giving out free haircuts

Ekie Walters Ngalle is one of the very few Cameroonians who has sought to take off the garment of “I will give when I have” and has sought to do the little he can in great ways.

As a barber by profession, Walter Ngalle says he has sought to add his bit to the less privilege population of Cameroon in a campaign he himself has launched, #LetsCleanTheLessPrivileged wherein, he goes around the country to give free haircut to the less privileged.

He has been to Cameroonian cities like Yaounde, Buea, Limbe, Tiko, Mutengene and other towns to carry out his philanthropic work.

“I actually barb without a shop, I give out my services at my customers’ convenience. I started this free haircut campaign because I realised that most of the less privileged persons in our country are most at times unkempt. So I said to myself there is something I have to do in my own way to help these people at least. That is how I decided to move round some parts of the country visiting less privileged persons of our country and giving them free haircuts” Walters explained, adding that: “I have been to several towns for this. I have been to Limbe, Mutengene, Tiko, Yaounde, Douala, Buea amongst other places. I’ve been to these places so far and I plan to extend my campaign to more regions of our country”.

Quizzed about how he got himself the money to fund his mobile barber whose sole motive is to go move round the country giving out these free haircuts, Ekie Walters told us it was his personal money he used to carry out his campaign as he had no sponsors.

“I do everything with my personal money, and the volunteers that follow me, I pay for their transportation. Like is mentioned earlier, it is own way to bless and contribute to the less privileged of our country”.

Walters is not alone in his philanthropic work

The philanthropist barber says his travels have opened his eyes wide, to the plight of several Cameroonians and he believes it will motivate persons of goodwill to help alleviate the burdens of the less privileged especially with the country suffering from numerous humanitarian situations.
