Information from Barrister Hippolyte Meli, the spokesperson of the defense lawyers for the CRM party says at least 5 of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) militants have been released from the Yaoundé Kondengui Maximum Prison after being found faultless by the court.
They are; Nouadjali Kamguen Rupert, Kamwa Kamdem Antoine, Saague Jean Remy, Manfo Ndiffo Alfonse, and Wokam Nguewa Narcissus.
Nevertheless, there are still over 50 other CRM Militants detained at the Kondengui Maximum Prison for their part in the peaceful demonstrations of September 22, 2020.
Meanwhile, 4 of the 50 detained militants are scheduled to stand trial on December 21, while 46 others have yet to be charged.
Earlier this month, CRM President Maurice Kamto addressed a crowd in Douala, where he told them he had urged the authorities to release incarcerated CRM Militants.
Though he assured he and the CRM party were going to be peaceful in getting things done, he nevertheless didn’t rule out fighting if the choice presented itself.
