An impressive team of 18 lawyers is about now defending the position of MRC candidate, Maurice Kamto as the hearing of post-electoral petitions enter day two today at the Constitutional Council.

Eminent lawyers like Akere Muna, Agbor Nkongho, Ikome Ngongi, Ndong Christopher, Ndoki, Assira among others have since been pleading for a cancellation of the October 7 polls in some jurisdictions.

According to the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party, Elections Cameroon violated section 286-1 of the electoral code on public funding of campaigns.
The funds were disbursed late.
Another irregularity cited was the illegal occupation of space reserved for campaign messages.

The CRM has maintained, presenting evidences that the election was rigged in atleast 6 regions; Far North, North, Adamawa, South, North West and South West regions of Cameroon in favour of the CPDM presidential candidate Paul Biya.

According to the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party, it’s representatives were expelled from polling stations during the voting process.

The CRM is also accusing ELECAM massive vote rigging in some interior localities of the Six regions.

The Constitutional Council is yet to rule on the case. 16 petitions have been rejected by the court.
