Prince Aimé’s Viviane Remix Garners Over 2 Million Views in 14 Hours

The remix of Viviane by Prince Aimé has created an unprecedented wave of excitement in Cameroon and beyond, setting records for both viewership and engagement.

Released on November 4, 2024, the song garnered over 2 million views and 53,000 comments within just 14 hours, making it one of the fastest-growing Cameroonian music videos on YouTube.

Shot in the bustling area of Avenue Kennedy in Yaoundé, the video features not only Prince Aimé but also notable figures like Maahlox, Magasco, and comedians Moustique le Karismastik and Bengono, who add a distinct local flavor to the project.

Upon its release, Viviane quickly elevated Prince Aimé’s YouTube channel, “Prince Aimé TV,” which had previously fewer than 5,000 subscribers.

Within hours, his subscriber count skyrocketed to over 77,000.

African Song With Most Engagements?

Reports indicate that the remix’s success has prompted some fans to claim it as the African song with the highest engagement within 14 hours, although unauthorised uploads of the video on fake accounts may affect this achievement.

Despite this setback, Viviane continues to break records and capture the attention of audiences across the continent.

Cameroonian artist and songwriter Wax Dey added fuel to the viral sensation by promising a grand reward to Prince Aimé if the song reaches 4 million views within 24 hours.

“The challenge has been launched: 4 million views within 24 hours, and I will offer a 4×4 car plus a driver to Prince Aimé. Subscribe massively to his channel,” he posted on social media.

This announcement spurred even more online engagement, with both fans and Cameroonian celebrities rallying to promote the video, sharing links, and encouraging everyone to watch and subscribe to Prince Aimé’s channel.

History of the Song

Originally released in 2004, Viviane was already a hit in its own right.

However, it found renewed life one month ago when Ivorian artist Debordo Leekunfa released a karaoke he performed with the song in 2017, claiming copyright and expressing intentions to release an official remix.

This move sparked a reaction from Cameroonian artists, who sought to reassert ownership over the song.

The remix featuring Prince Aimé aimed to reclaim the song’s legacy, ensuring that its success and rewards stayed with its original creator.

Viviane’s success showcases the power of unity, patriotism, and support in Cameroon’s music industry.

Fans and artists view it as a powerful example of what Cameroonians can achieve when they unite to support their own.

“With determination, love, and support, Cameroon’s showbiz industry can achieve a lot,” one supporter remarked.

The overwhelming support for Viviane has proven that Cameroonian artists have a powerful community backing them and can make a significant impact on the global music scene.
