Professor Victor Mbarika is the only person to receive the African Leadership Award for his contributions to the continent’s progress in the fields of education

This ceremony, attended by Lord Simon Wooley, a member of the House of Lords in the UK parliament at the Palace of Westminster, honored the astute and patriotic professor Victor Mbarika, who proudly accepted the award while wearing a Cameroon tie in representation of and respect for his home country.

Several prize winners were recognized at the event. Professor Victor Mbarika, however, was the only person to receive the African Leadership Awards for his contributions to the continent’s progress in the fields of education and other fields of endeavor.

“I give thanks to God and dedicate this award to my beloved country, Cameroon where I started learning leadership as a youngster, and also to my father and hero, Mr. George Mbarika. As a means to portray my patriotism and honor my country, I decided to present myself in a tie with Cameroon’s flag at the event,’’ said Prof Mbarika after receiving the award.
