Prof Victor Mbarika, Founder of ICT University, Wins African Leadership Award in London


 
The African Achievers Award presented Professor Victor Mbarika, president and founder of the esteemed ICT University, with yet another prestigious award on July 14, 2023.
 
The African Achievers Awards is an annual ceremony that recognizes and honors outstanding Africans in a variety of fields who have made significant contributions to Africa’s progress and prosperity.

Professor Victor Mbarika is the only person to receive the African Leadership Award for his contributions to the continent’s progress in the fields of education

This ceremony, attended by Lord Simon Wooley, a member of the House of Lords in the UK parliament at the Palace of Westminster, honored the astute and patriotic professor Victor Mbarika, who proudly accepted the award while wearing a Cameroon tie in representation of and respect for his home country.



 Several prize winners were recognized at the event. Professor Victor Mbarika, however, was the only person to receive the African Leadership Awards for his contributions to the continent’s progress in the fields of education and other fields of endeavor.


 
“I give thanks to God and dedicate this award to my beloved country, Cameroon where I started learning leadership as a youngster, and also to my father and hero, Mr. George Mbarika. As a means to portray my patriotism and honor my country, I decided to present myself in a tie with Cameroon’s flag at the event,’’ said Prof Mbarika after receiving the award.

“Equally, I dedicate this award to all young upcoming Africans that I have had the privilege to mentor and I will continue doing so. Lastly, I dedicate it to The ICT University family, in all nations around the world where we are based. This award is to you all,” He added.
 

What makes this award so remarkable is the caliber of African visionary leaders who have received it for their pivotal roles in the continent’s history. Some of these African leaders who have made significant contributions to their countries include Nelson Mandela, Julius Nyerere, Thomas Sankara, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Kwame Nkrumah, Jomo Kenyatta, Patrice Lumumba, Leopold Sedar, Halle Selassie, Wangari Maathai, Jerry Rawlings, and Jomo Kenyatta.


History has been made once again as Professor Victor Mbarika has spotlighted his country, as Cameroon has equally joined the chat of visionary leaders who have left indelible footprints on  African History.

The Africa Leadership Awards honor achievers, superachievers, and future business leaders. African celebrities and outstanding personalities attended this lavish event which honor their abilities to navigate tough times using the greatest business modules to manage and sustain their missions.
