Stakeholders of the education sector in the North West region have observed that students often despise science subjects due to the model of training offered at the basic education level.
To address this misrepresentation, the Cameroon Baptist Convention Education board in collaboration with Canada has launched a research project in Bamenda aimed at getting teachers and parents to nurse pupils in the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at the primary school level.
In a world champion by science and technology, the leader of the research team suggested that there’s a need for innovation in the primary school curriculum which will reinforce the interest of people in the field of science.
“We have international partners willing to work with us so that we can help these young people to excel and take up those disciplines which are considered very important”, he said.
The project will be implemented in some 9 CBC primary schools drawn from the North West, West, Center, and South West regions of Cameroon. The project that will run for 32 months will see the pupils benefit from digital skills.
