The fan base of the PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda has raised about 10 million francs to enable the team prepare for the cup of Cameroon finals scheduled for this Sunday, March 13, 2022, at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium.
In the buildup to the game against Astres of Douala, PWD’s banners have been flying above major junctions in Bamenda.
Some of the region’s businessmen have already made available supporters’ jerseys and other accessories bearing the logo of the team.
The regional President of FECAFOOT who doubles as the Mayor of Bamenda I council and vice president of the United Councils and Cities of Cameroon, says each council area is expected to lead a delegation to Yaounde.
“We are all going there as a family. All those that have contributed for us to have this success, we say thank you”, Mbigha Felix said.
North West governor, Adolphe Lele Afrique, administrative and security officials in the region have been meeting the management of the team to provide necessary assistance.
PWD Bamenda is one of the oldest football teams in the North West region, having been created in 1962.
PWD will take on Les Astres of Douala in the cup of Cameroon finals this Sunday.
The Abakwa Boys have arrived in Yaoundé and will this afternoon receive their brand new bus.
