The new season of the regional championship has been launched in the town of Mora in Mayo-sava, Far North Region of Cameroon.
Although the inhabitants of the Mora neighborhood still live in fear of possible attacks by members of Boko Haram sect, the football lovers have decided to forget the difficult times spent in the majority of the localities of Mayo sava, transferred into battle feild.
The launching saw the presence of the governor of the Far North region.
The new president of the Far North regional football league, Oumar Bichair has as intentions to breath new life in the regions that remains blocked due to repeated attacks by Boko Haram.
Incursions that undermine the entertainment of young people in this part of the North.
“We want to detect talent and revitalize football in this region which has regained its vitality after the exactions of terrorists. Now people have to invest in football,” said Oumar Bichair.
The launching of the championship is therefore an opportunity to revitalize passion for football and promote peace and serenity in the area threatened by terrorists.
The inaugural match was between château FC of Mora and Ajax of Maroua.
Meanwhile a total of 22 clubs from the region will participate in this competition.
