The lifeless body of Koulbout Aman David, a retired Senior Divisional Officer, was discovered today in his residence in Nkol-Afamba, Centre Region, under suspicious
circumstances.
The former administrator, who previously served as Senior Divisional Officer for Mifi in the West Region and Dja and Lobo in the Centre Region, was
found in his bedroom lying in a pool of blood. A gun was reportedly found some distance away from his body, and he had a bullet wound to his head.
Initial reports suggest that the retired Koulbout Aman David may have taken his own life. However, the position of the firearm and other details surrounding the scene
have raised questions, with some sources suggesting the possibility of foul play.
Local authorities have cordoned off the area as investigations begin to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, but forensic experts are expected to examine the scene thoroughly. The findings will aim to clarify whether the death was indeed a suicide or if other factors were involved.
Cases of suicide are rife in Cameroon, where much attention is not given to mental health. However, in most cases, investigations are limited and as such, no lessons are learned.
