A lucky household of six can thank their lucky stars after seemingly avoiding what would have been a shocking disaster in the town of Batouri-Ndelele, in the East Region.
A heavy duty truck with lose breaks according to witnesses managed to be stopped from crashing into the house thanks to some trees planted around the building.
The family was deep asleep at the time the danger was averted in the night.
The truck driver and his conductor are believed to have sustained life threatening injuries after crashing into the tree that night.
Many inhabitants of the town have blamed the accident on the horrible state of the road, coupled with the excessive speed used by the truck driver.
