Ronaldo offers Ngannou limited-edition watch ahead of Fury fight

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has gifted Cameroonian heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou a luxurious Jacob & Co. watch whose worth is estimated at $117,000 (approximately FCFA 72.3 million).

The offer comes five days before Ngannou’s much-anticipated fight against the unbeatable world boxing champion, Tyson Fury.

The limited-edition timepiece came with a number of features, including a tourbillon movement, a diamond-encrusted bezel, and a red heart-shaped dial.

Ngannou received the watch from Jacob Arabo, the co-owner of the American watch company, as Cristiano Ronaldo required.

“Thank you @jacobandco and my brother @cristiano ahead of fight week,” Ngannou wrote on Instagram after receiving the watch.

The former UFC champion, who has been nicknamed The Predator, first met Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia in January, when he travelled to the country to negotiate his highly anticipated fight.

A photo of them posing in a lighthearted, combat-ready manner went viral.

The football star, who plays for Saudi club Al-Nassr, was contracted to do a promotional video for the Ngannou and Fury “Battle of the Baddest”.

The combat is scheduled for October 28, in Saudi Arabia, and is one of the most anticipated fights ever, with millions of people worldwide awaiting it.

Although both of them have been friends, it remains unclear why Ronaldo chose to offer Ngannou the piece of luxury at this time.

It is possible that the Portuguese football star is a fan of the heavyweight champion or that he was simply showing his appreciation for Ngannou’s accomplishments.

However, many think the watch offer coming just days to Ngannou’s greatest fight may be a sign of his support for “The Predator”.

The Epic X Heart of CR7 is a highly sought-after watch. Its value is expected to continue to rise in the coming years.

Some however speculate that Ronaldo may have also wanted to use the gift to promote his own watch brand, Jacob & Co.

Ronaldo is a brand ambassador for Jacob & Co. and has often been seen wearing the brand’s watches.
