The Dr Samuel Sako-led Interim Government (IG) has launched an initiative to bring hope to refugees
His Health and Social Service team reached out to a refugee settlements in Nigeria where thousands of Cameroonians who fled from the troubled Anglophone regions are seeking refuge.
They offered foodstuff and medical care to the refugees, many of whom remain in critical condition.
The humanitarian outreach, the service noted, comes in the wake of distress calls from refugee leaders in this settlement area where the people have been undergoing untold sufferings due to lack of food, beddings and medical attention.
Among areas visited is the Adagon 3 Settlement Area where they delivered a consignment of relief items comprising mattresses, bags of rice, bags of garri, cooking oil, cartons of soap, sanitary packs and provision of a First Aid Box to the community amongst other items.
A similar outreach was carried out in other refugee settlement areas like Ajasso, Adagon 1, Benue and Akwa Ibom States.
