Saudi Club Al Nassr Makes Lucrative Offer for Andre Onana, Despite Manchester United’s Interest.

Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have made a lucrative offer to Cameroon international Andre Onana, according to CBS Sports correspondent James Benge. The offer could make Onana one of the highest-paid goalkeepers in the world.

Onana is currently under contract with Inter Milan, but his deal expires at the end of the season. Manchester United are also interested in signing the 27-year-old, but they are yet to make an offer that matches Al Nassr’s.

Onana is seen as a top target for Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United. Ten Hag worked with Onana at Ajax, and he believes that the goalkeeper is the perfect fit for his style of play.

However, Al Nassr are also a serious contender for Onana’s signature. The Saudi club are backed by wealthy owners, and they are willing to spend big money to attract top talent. They are also in need of a new goalkeeper, as their current number one, David Ospina, is out injured for the start of the season.

It remains to be seen where Onana will end up next season. However, the fact that two of the biggest clubs in the world are interested in him is a testament to his ability.

“The Saudi Pro League wants the best players they can find and there weren’t many keepers better than Onana last season”. said Benge.

Onana is a highly rated goalkeeper who has been capped 33 times by Cameroon. He began his career at Barcelona, but he moved to Ajax in 2016. He has been a regular starter for Ajax, and he helped the club win the Eredivisie title in 2019 and 2021.

Onana was banned for doping in 2021, but he served his ban and returned to action in January 2022. He has since made record appearances for Inter Milan, keeping the highest number of clean sheets in a single UEFA Champions League campaign.

The race for Onana’s signature is likely to go down to the wire. Manchester United have the advantage of having Ten Hag as their manager, but Al Nassr are willing to pay more money. It will be interesting to see who eventually wins the race for the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
