SDF Dares Government Again, Announces Street Protest January 8

The Regional Chairman of the Social Democratic Front, SDF for the Littoral, Honorable Jean Michel Nitcheu has announced a massive protest to be staged in Douala.

The protest has been planned for January 8, 2022, the eve of the Africa Nations Cup, AFCON.

The protest according to a communiqué published by Honorable Nitcheu is to draw the attention of the international community “to the unacceptable situation going on in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon”.

The protest is also geared towards pressuring Government to call for a ceasefire in the North West and South West Regions, and demand the initiation of an inclusive dialogue process.

The SDF Party will also used the protest to demand the state to take charge of the internally displaced Cameroonians, displayed due to the violence in both regions.

The SDF planned protest comes on the eve of the AFCON competition to be staged in Cameroon.

Territorial administration Minister, Paul Atanga Nji weeks back had warned that trouble makers who dare to try to sabotage the country’s image ahead of the AFCON will be severely dealt with.
