The Social Democratic Front, SDF, party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has called for an internal audit.
The call was one of the resolutions reached at during a NEC meeting over the weekend in Yaoundé.
Going by one of the resolutions, NEC “instructs the auditors of the party to carry out an extensive audit of the party’s finances”.
NEC also instructed 1st National Vice Chairman, Hon Joshua Osih “to prepare the report of the last Presidential, Parliamentary, and Municipal elections that were managed under his supervision”.
It stressed that the reports should be “in written form” and forwarded to “to the Secretary General and the relevant committees for appraisal and discussion in the next NEC meeting”.
The crux of the meeting however was the discussion on Osih’s status as party member.
After assessing the request for Osih to be kicked out based on the famous article 8.2 of the party’s constitution, NEC entertained the case, and ordered the legal department to get to work.
A decision is expected to be reached at during the next NEC meeting.
Other conclusions of yesterday’s NEC meeting included condolences for families of persons that have died from the covid-19 pandemic, as well as reasserting a call for strong institutions in Cameroon.
