SDF Witnesses Setbacks Ahead Of Municipal, Legislative Elections

The Social Democratic Front, SDF political party has been experiencing political issues since her announcement to run for 2020 municipal and legislative elections in Cameroon. In a release addressed to the SDF regional chairman in the North West region on Wednesday November 20th, Mbah Eric Mbah, a staunch militant of the party in Batibo declined an investiture decision for him to run for next year’s municipal election.

He sates “…I hereby make it known that I am indisposed to run for municipal elecetion given the well known dynamism of my aspiration and focus on Bar, a situation that is compounded by the prevailing security constraints on life and property”.The politician called on the SDF party to omit his name from any list constituted either for municipal or legislative election billed for February 9th 2020.

In Douala on Wednesday November 20th, Emmanuel Kongne, a front line militant of the SDF in the Littoral region on his part resigned from the party and joined the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party, a move political critics says is a big blow to the party in the littoral region.

Earlier this week, Honorable Awudu Mbaya Cyprian from Donga Mantung division and member of the party also decided not to run for elections next year.To the law maker that has served his community for twenty three years, the security situation does not permit him to run. He says he can’t place the lives of his electorates at risk for the sake of power.
