Bamenda security evaluation meeting
Military leaders from the 5th Joint Military Region and the 5th Gerndarmerie Region convened in Bamenda yesterday for a pivotal operational control and security evaluation meeting, setting the stage for enhanced security measures in the region. The gathering, chaired by Major General René Claud Meka, the Chief of Defence Staff, brought together key officials to assess the current security landscape and reinforce strategies for peacekeeping efforts.
Brigadier General Bouba Dobekreo, overseeing the 5th Joint Military Region, opened the meeting with an overview of the region’s security status. “The security situation remains firmly under the control of the dedicated forces on the ground,” affirmed General Bouba, highlighting the unwavering commitment of military personnel to maintaining stability despite the prevailing situation, which soldiers have paid even with their lives.
A significant highlight of the meeting was the unveiling of new guidelines and strategic orientations aimed at further fortifying peace and security within the military region. “We have had good results on the field so far,” said General Bouba. “We expect timely collaboration from the population so that we can achieve complete calm,” he added.
