Security forces disrupt protest of MIDA subscribers in Yaounde, CRM addresses the press today, Japoma stadium contractors not sure to meet deadline

-The spokesperson of Professor Maurice Kamto, has announced that the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party will hold a press conference this afternoon.
The meeting is coming after Paul Eric Kingue filed a complaint over attempted murder, homicide amongst others by suspected security forces who invaded his home.
Previous conferences of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party were disrupted.

-Wild flames ravaged a section of the PK14 Market on the suburbs of the city of Douala. The flames broke out early Thursday, November 22, 2018.

✍?There is heavily military deployment in and around the vicinity of the Mimistry of Justice in Yaounde.
The forces have been deployed to suppress the planned protest of scores of subscribers of the Integration and Development Mission for Africa (MIDA).
The strike is in solidarity with the management of MIDA whom, according to the protesters are illegally detained in Yaounde. They appeared in court today and were denied bail.
In a release Wednesday, the Governor of the Centre region qualified the strike as illegal and told organisers to restrain.

✍?Another foreign missionary has been assasinated in anglophone Cameroon. Mill Hill, a Kenyan priest, was shot dead in Mamfe, chieftown of Manyu Division in the South West Region. The circumstances surrounding the death of the clergy is still unclear, but local sources have said he was killed in a cross fire. This is the second death in less than one month after that of the American pastor, Charles Wesco Trumann, October 30th, in Bamenda in the North West

✍?Professor Paul Mbufong has been replaced as Director of Administrative Affairs at the University of Bamenda, by Richard Mbifi. The decision is contained in a presidential decree signed Wednesday. The President of the Republic issued two decrees appointing officials of the Universities of Douala, Bamenda, Yaounde I, Dschang, Yaounde II and N’Gaoundere.
The University of Bamenda had issued a release, and said unknown assailants killed the university lecturer.

✍? The embattled Mayor of Yabassi, has filed a complaint at the Ministry of Territorial Administration against the SDO of Nkam Division.
Jacques Maboula is denouncing the SDO of “contempt, abuse of power and repetitive harassment in the discharge of his duties”, urging MINAT boss to adress the issue.
He also congratulated Paul Biya’s re-election.

✍?The prime minister, head of the government has signed a decree creating and organizing a coordination center for emergency humanitarian assistance for the populations of the Southwest and North-West and South west regions, who have for tow years, suffered abuses, due to the Anglophone crisis.
Many are still raising questions on the achievements of the national emergency plan, destined to assist the afflicted population of the North West and South West regions.
The new Centre is coordinated by the Minister of Territorial Administration, assisted by the Minister of External Relations. The Regional coordination centres are based in Bamenda and Buea.

✍?The 2019 Finance Bill will be under deliberations at the National Assembly as from Thursday till the end of the Finance and Budget Committee session. It is coming 24 hours after the presentation to the parliament, the 2019 socio-economic plan of the government by the Prime Minister, Philemon Yang

✍?The Minister of Transport, this morning at Castel Hall in Douala, chaired the second edition of the Communication Days on Road Safety.

-Contractors incharge of the Japoma Stadium in Douala have said the project will only be due, March 2019, whereas December 2018 was the previewed deadline. They spoke during the inspection visit to the site today by the Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary. MINCOM on his part said all is going well. He is due to evaluate the progress made in the construction of equipment and other structures which will be used in relaying matches at the 2019 AFCON games in Cameroon.

✍? Educational talks as part of the Cameroon Week for the fight against AIDS begin this Thursday in the Schools.
The initiative is that of the Ministry of Basic Education.

A 17-year-old boy is due in court in South Africa today accused of stabbing a primary school pupil.
The older boy is alleged to have hid in the school toilets overnight before attacking the younger boy. The alleged attacker is thought to have been in a relationship with the victim’s older sister, according to a statement from the education department. (Source BBC)

The Under 17 national female team have been eliminated from the ongoing FIFA World Cup in their category. The lionesses that were supposed to clinch three points in their last group match against defending champions felt short as they succumbed to a 1-2 defeat to the Korea DPR. Even though, the Lionesses opened scores at the sixth minutes of the encounter, the Korean who also needed the three points of the day to continue the defense of the title they won in 2016 in Jordan, managed to overcome the threats of the lionesses to pick a qualification ticket. The lionesses in the entire tournament after three games played, won 1, and lost two scoring two goals and conceding five. It is however a memorable tournament in Uruguay for the Under 17 Lionesses who recorded their first victory in the history of the tournament beating Germany 1-0. In their previous participation at the FIFA Under 17 women’s competition that took place in Jordan in 2016, the lionesses left the tournament without a single point as they lost in their three group matches.
