The Lagdo Council in Cameroon’s North Region was shaken by a serious criminal act inside the council building that left Ngonmoga Dieudonné, a security guard on duty at the municipal revenue office, dead.
His body was found under the veranda of the administrative building. The attackers remain unidentified.
According to reliable sources, the victim was killed before the assailants broke into several municipal offices.
The municipal revenue office, civil registry, and other administrative units were forced open, with documents vandalized, equipment taken, and public funds stolen.
The preliminary assessment reports the disappearance of fiscal stamps valued at nearly 1.8 million CFA francs, 260,000 CFA francs in cash, and computer equipment.
The guard’s body was taken to the morgue, while his colleague on duty, who was absent at the time of the incident, has been taken into custody as a precautionary measure as part of the investigation.
A judicial inquiry is underway to identify the perpetrators of this criminal act, which has reignited concerns regarding the security of public infrastructure in Lagdo.
