The process of selecting candidates to represent the CPDM in South West region at the forthcoming senatorial election has reportedly gone messy.

Two bigwigs of the CPDM are reported to have gone physical at each other over the choice of candidate to represent Kupe Muanenguba division.

We gathered from well placed sources that the Minister, Deputy Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Elung Paul Che, had engaged in a physical fight with former Minister, Elvis Ngolle Ngolle over disagreement on who to represent Kupe-Muanenguba division.

The incident occured this week in Buea during the selection process of candidates to represent the South West at the upcoming March 12 senatorial election in Cameroon.

The Minister, Deputy Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic,Elung Paul Che is said to be fiercely backing a certain Hilda who is Chief of Bureau in the ministry of secondary education in Yaounde.

For his part, minister Elvis Ngolle Ngolle is said to be backing the incumbent senator for Kupe-Muanenguba, Ntube Agnes Ndjock.

Ngolle Ngolle who is the boss of the CPDM in the division had insisted that the incumbent senator be retained as Kupe-Muanenguba flag bearer for the upcoming senatorial election.

Both CPDM heavyweights had openly disagreed over the choice of candidate before engaging in a fight. It was thanks to the intervention of their peers that calm was restored during the meeting.

Minister Elung Paul Che and Minister Ngolle Ngolle have been well known political arch enemies.

It is left to be seen who will be selected to represent Kupe Muanenguba.

The files of candidates from across the country are expected to be deposited at the CPDM central committee today.
