Senegalese Player Under Fire Over Alleged Homophobia

By M.K

Senegalese and Paris Saint Germain midfielder, Idrissa Gana Gueye has been asked to explain why he failed to feature in his team’s last performance.

Reports from French media outlets claimed the player refused to wear the Jersey which had been designed with rainbow colors as a sign of solidarity with the LGBT community.

As a Muslim, Idrissa Gana Gueye is believed to have resisted wearing the kit. He was thus left out of the squad.

The player has since been accused by several French outlets of homophobia.

The French football association has equally demanded an explanation from the player why he did not feature in the game.

Many French people have called for the player to render a public apology for his behavior towards the LGBT community.
