Nick Imudia, the CEO of D.light, a leading innovator in residential solar energy solutions, tragically took his own life at his residence in Lekki, Lagos in Nigeria. Imudia reportedly died on the night of Tuesday, June 25, after jumping from the balcony of his apartment.
Nigeria’s renowned journalist, Adeola Fayehun, reported the story on Thursday morning. She revealed, “Before making the jump, he called his US-based brother to give instructions on how to distribute his wealth should anything happen to him.”
Imudia also reached out to his young daughter from a previous relationship, telling her he would always be there for her and that she only needed to “look in the sky” to see him.
Imudia was a former Chief Executive Officer of Konga, one of Nigeria’s e-commerce giants. He hailed from Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
While many are suggesting depression and trauma as main cause of the suicide, it is still unclear what could have pushed Imudia to take away his one life.
