Soldier killed, 5 wounded in Benakuma clashes

A member of the Cameroon armed forces reports say has been killed in an exchange with Ambazonian fighters in Benakuma in Menchum valley sub division, North West region.

“Four other soldiers and one journalist were wounded” a source tells MMI.

The wounded are said to have been via helicopter evacuated and are responding to treatment at the moment.

Despite the foiled attacks, the installation of the Divisional Officer for Menchum, Fomla Foncha Azise Christian still went on successfully. The brief event that held at the premises of the Benakuma council which had been left abandoned for a long time now however had in attendance just the SDO and his delegation members. The attacks on administrative personnel in the Anglophone regions it should be noted is not the first of its kind.
