Soldiers continue raid in Muyuka

The town of Muyuka in the South West region is yet to know peace after a mother of four was beheaded last week by alleged separatist fighters.

Soldiers in a crackdown on the town made massive arrests, leaving residents in fear. The raid has continued today Monday, traditionally observed as ghost towns in the North West and South West regions.

“The military entered in a village called Ikata in Muyuka sub-division this morning around 3:30AM” a source tells Mimi Mefo Info.

He adds that “they burnt houses and killed two persons … We are in much pains right now.”

Residents say they still fear for their lives, as they remain caught up between separatist fighters and soldiers.

Last week, close to 10 people were reportedly shot dead and hundreds arrested by soldiers. Money exchanged hand before those apprehended were released by paying the military.
