Spurs earn first EPL victory with 2-0 victory over Man United

Tottenham Hotspur have clinched a remarkable victory in a thrilling Premier League showdown, marking their first win of the season.

Spurs triumphed over Manchester United, breaking a winless streak that dated back to October 2020.

Pape Sarr, the rising star of the club, showcased his immense talent by finding the back of the net for the very first time.

Sarr risked a late run into the area and found himself in the right place to convert Kulusevski’s deflected cross. Kulusevski took plenty of room down the right wing and broke to the byline. Sarr looped his left-footed strike into the net after he sent a right-footed ball across the face of the goal.

With the home crowd on the edge of their seats, Sarr seized the moment just moments after the interval, propelling his team into the lead.

In the second half, Lisandro Martinez, unfortunately, redirected Ben Davies’ shot into his own goal, granting Ange Postecoglou a triumphant debut as the head coach of Tottenham.

Davies extended Tottenham’s lead as his scuff deflected off Martinez and rolled into the bottom-right corner. Perisic admirably performed down the left flank, as he cut inside on his right foot and curled a cross into the centre. Davies did not connect well with his strike, and the hosts benefited as it traveled onto Martinez’s boot on its way past Onana.

Fans were on the edge of their seats during one particular incident when Antony made an incredible effort that reverberated throughout the stadium but was unsuccessful due to the unforgiving post.

However, despite these flashes of brilliance, United found themselves largely playing catch-up throughout the match, as Tottenham Hotspur dominated the proceedings.
