Stacey Fru: A South African With Cameroonian Born Parents, Youngest Multiple Award winning Writer In The Continent.

At twelve, Stacey Fru has written three books with the first titled “Smelling Cats” published when she was 7.

Stacey Fru has won three awards making her Africa’s youngest multi award winning author of Chapter books on the continent.
She was recently honored by the president of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the World Youth Forum that honors youth from Africa and from the Arab region for their great role in shaping the future.

In 2016, she won the National Development Agency (NDA) in the Best Early Childhood Development (ECD) category.
She won ‘Young Leaders 2016’ and a special mention by Lead South Africa in November 2016.
She was Mail and Guardian Top 200 Young Most influential South Africans in 2016 and Runner up at the victor Basadi Award in Young in Young Dignitary Category in 2017 which she later won in 2018.
Still in 2018, Stacy Fru won the “Gauteng Premier’s 2nd Youth Excellence in Service”.
An emotional occasion, in which Premier David Makhura announced her as a Special Guest, gave her an open ovation and lifted her to the crowd.

Stacey won the Fountain Category at the Valhalla Arts IBHUKU Awards 2018 that recognized 10 most influential women in the literary scenes of South Africa.

Stacey Fru counts three books to her credit since her first publication at the age of 7.
These include “Smelling Cats”(written at the age of 7), “Bob and the Snake” (written at the age of 8) and “Smelling Cats on Vacation”

She is a philanthropist and the youngest Ambassador for Save the Children.
As an author, Stacey is focused on teaching children because she is very disappointed that many children cannot read and write by age 9.
She has dedicated her life to teach, motivate and encourage others through public talks, writings, and her television projects.

Stacey constantly donates items like books, computers, clothing and food through The Stacey Fru Foundation to children and adults of South Africa.

Her footprint is seen across provinces in the country into rural areas where she has been privileged to appreciate how lucky she is through giving.

Stacey Fru was born on the 16th of February 2007 in Johannesburg –South Africa to her Cameroonian Parents: Dr. Emmanuel Fru and mother Victorine Shu.
She is the second of the four children, her siblings.
