Stand on your feet and fight for your rights PAP tells Cameroon journalists

The dust is yet to settle over the torture and death of Samuel Wazizi. Extending its condolences to the family and friends of the now late pressman, the Popular Action Party ,(PAP) says it is time to fight the injustice.

“The PAP vehemently condemns these acts of dictatorship, barbarism and outright arrogance towards journalists and continuous Human Rights violations and demands that late Wazizi’s mortal remains be presented to the national and international community” the party’s president, Njang Denis says in a statement.

Highlighting that anyone can be the next victim, PAP says
“all lawyers, civil society organizations and most especially the community of English speaking journalists, to stand to their feet and fight for their rights and the rights of the oppressed people of Cameroon and journalists in particular”.

Referring to the Cameroon system as a “jungle justice system”, Njang Denis believes “the outdated regime must be redressed by the people and thus only through civil disobedience, internal and external pressure for a political transition to a new government and a new republic.”

Despite the numerous reactions to the news of the journalist’s death, government is yet to comment on the abduction, torture and death of Samuel Wazizi.
