State burial for Ni John Fru Ndi in Cameroon

A state funeral is a solemn and formal public ceremony that adheres to established protocols, organized to pay tribute to individuals of great national importance.

State funerals often feature a significant display of grandeur and ceremonial practices, incorporating religious elements and notable aspects of military tradition.

Cameroon has had very few cases where personalities were given a state burial.

Examples of such cases are Mark Vivian Foe and Adoum Gargoum.

Ni John Fru Ndi who died aged 82, has constantly challenged President Biya’s bad governance, and poor management of the country with the most recent being the Anglophone crisis.
