Hon Joshua Osih has been tipped as the most likely member of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) party to take over the mantle of leadership from Ni John Fru Ndi.
Going by a latest survey, Osih beat Hon Jean-Michel Nintcheu by 221 votes (33.9%) to 203 votes (32.6%).
The survey was carried out by members of the SDF party in Germany and ran through March 6 to 11, 2021.
The two, Osih and Nintcheu broke out from among 10 party barons put up for the survey.
The survey was carried out by militants of the SDF, members of last SDF convention, and the candidates themselves.
The results come on the eve of the party’s first National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting for 2021 set to hold in Yaoundé tomorrow.
It should be recalled that weeks back, the party’s Founding Chairman Ni John Fru Ndi said he was stepping down after two decades at the helm of the body.
With news of his descent, there have been conflicting views over who will take over him, with Osih confirming that the Chairman’s announcement has created a succession dispute within the party.
