Suspected baby thieves arrested in Nkongsamba

A group of thugs is currently in the hands of elements of the Gendarmerie brigade in Nkongsamba after an operation launched days ago.

Aged between 22-64, the suspects were apprehended in Nkongsamba by the Mungo Gendarmerie company in collaboration with the Bafang Gendarmerie Brigade who had been in active search of the gang for some time now.

A thorough search of the thugs’ houses yielded in the discovery and seizure of two firearms which they used in carrying out their operations.

Security sources also reveal that this same operation further led to the dismantling of a baby trafficking network in Nkongsamba, a clique which extends right to Douala.

Three suspects including a 29-year-old woman were arrested in possession of a 6 months old baby.

Investigations have been launched with the hope of apprehending the other members of the network, especially those located in the economic capital.
