The South West Chiefs Conference (SWECC) will be organising a cultural festival in December to promote the culture, heritage, and values of the people of the South West Region.

A recent release signed by SWECC President, HRH Chief Obenofunde Moses, and Secretary General, HRH Chief Ekoka Molindo, indicates that the festival will take place in Buea in the second week of December.

“The Chiefs invite the population of the Southwest Region in particular, Cameroonians in general and the international community, to be part of these celebrations that will showcase the beauty of the Southwest culture and the hospitality of the people of the Southwest Region”, the release states.

Activities that will characterize the event will include traditional dance; an excursion to tourist sites; a fashion parade; discourses on investment opportunities in the South West Region; and debates.

The cultural festival is one of many endeavours SWECC is taking to promote the region’s culture.

The association launched a new cultural fabric, Eyasu, last November celebrating the region’s hospitality, culture, agricultural, and touristic potential.

SWECC revealed during its meeting last November 18 that it was raising funds to build a “South West Cultural Heritage Center” as part of its goal of promoting culture and heritage.
