A teacher who is also a PhD student has been killed in Bamenda, headquarters of the North West region of Cameroon.

Shock and consternation have arrested the population of New Road in Nkwen where the gunmen men killed Anyam Pius.

New Road is a neighborhood in Bamenda II sub division in the North West Region of Cameroon.

MMI gathered that he was pulled out of a drinking spot and killed execution style, Sunday May 2023 at about 8pm.

Witnesses rushed him took him to a health facility where he died.

He was a teacher with Longla Comprehensive College Bamenda and a PhD student in the department of Literature, University of Bamenda.

This comes barely a few weeks after a journalist was killed by armed separatists, who later claimed it was a case of mistaken identity.

Bamenda remains one of the hotspots of the ongoing Anglophone crisis which has dragged on for over 6 years.

It should also be noted that in the month of March, 2023 still at the Newroad neighbourhood, Chiabi Emmanuel PhD was gunned down by armed men whose identities have not been confirmed.

Dr. Chiabi Emmanuel had long been buried. No arrest have been made.
