Marking of the 2020 session of the First School Leaving Certificate, FSLC examination in Cameroon started yesterday.

At the Government Bilingual Primary School, GBPS Bastos marking centre in Yaounde, teachers say they had a stressful day due to space issues.

“About 50% of teachers were unavailable to find marking room for themselves” one tells Mimi Mefo Info.

After standing outside the center for long to no avail, the markers were compelled to adapt, using whatever means possible to get marked scripts into the halls.

“Due to the large influx of teachers at the center, papers with written names were sent through the window by many teachers to their corresponding colleague inside the room who were either examiners or chief markers” the teacher adds.

There are also concerns over the possible spread of COVID-19 due to the huge crowd at the center.

Authorities in charge have made no comments over the issue as marketing goes into the second day today.
