The Star Media House in grief as CEO, Chief Nkemayang Paul dies

News of the death of Chief Nkemayang Paul broke out Thursday evening as a bombshell.

Chief Nkemayang who created The Star newspaper in 1991 died aged 61 in Limbe , according to family sources.

In total shock, Solomon Agborem, journalist of the Star Newspaper and one of the closest collaborators of Chief Nkemayang Paul recounts on phone how it happened.

“I got a call at about 11 pm for me to rush to the hospital in Limbe. They recounted to me that he was admitted in the hospital at about 9pm. The information we have is that all the test carried out on him were negative and he was asked to rest. That is how he took his last breathe.”

“We are really surprise with the sudden demise of of Chief Fuaonyi Nkemayang Paul ” He added.

Solomon Agborem remembers and keeps good memories of his publisher. He says Chief Nkemayang was a generous man.

Solomon continued that Chief Nkemayang used his time and resources to defend anyone who was on a right cause.

In the domain of the journalism profession, Chief Nkemayang Paul has been described as an icon who greatly believed and fact checked all news sources before publishing an article.

In one of his last public appearances, the President of commonwealth journalists association Cameroon chapter demonstrated his activism by leading a delegation to the governor of the south West region of the country demanding the whereabouts of journalist Samuel Wazizi.

In his words “…the only difference between journalists and the military is that journalists don’t wear uniform. We all work for the interest of the country and should be treated with respect and human dignity “.

CChief Nkemayang demise is a huge loss to the media family; “he has created a vacuum which will take time to fill, he was a guru, he will forever be remember, ” said Mua Patrick, Editor at The Guardian Post newspaper.
