Three Algerian journalists violently assaulted in Douala

Three Algerian Journalists — covering the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) have been violently harassed in Douala.

Douala, the commercial city of Cameroon is one of the AFCON host cities.

The journalists were on the night of January 9, 2022 threatened with knives and crude weapons by thugs, Mimi Mefo Info has learned.

Two of them sustained severe injuries and are receiving treatment in a Douala hospital.

The reason for the hostility on the Algerian Journalists remains unclear.

Team Algeria is paired in Group E, along with Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea and Ivory Coast. Their group games will be played at the Japoma Stadium.
