Three Cameroonian clubs have received a total of $401,515 from FIFA as part of the Club Benefits Programme for having players at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Coton Sport, the most successful club in Cameroonian football, received the largest share of the money, with $219,008. This was due to the fact that two of their players, Marou Souaibou and Ngom Bekeli, were called up to the Cameroon national team for the tournament.

Colombe received $109,504, while Apejes received $73,002. These two clubs each had one player called up to the Cameroon national team for the World Cup.

The FIFA Club Benefits Programme is designed to compensate clubs for the loss of players during international matches. It is also intended to encourage clubs to release players for international duty.

The money that the Cameroonian clubs have received will be a welcome boost to their finances. It will also help them to develop their youth academies and improve their infrastructure.
