Three Cameroonians have been nominated for the Under 40 African Awards, MMI has learnt.
They are competing with nominees from other countries across Africa in a virtual voting exercise.
The Award ceremony shall take place in March 2023 in South Africa.
Amongst them are Fabrice Vavemi Lena, Velveeta Viban and Rachel Wanyoike.
According to information gathered
Velveeta Viban , promoter of ‘I’m Human’, a Cameroonian humanitarian organisation was nominated under the category of Charity and Philanthropy.
Meanwhile Rachel Wanyoike of Solidaridad of Eastern and Central African Expertise Center was also nominated under the category of Charity and Philanthropy.
MMI gathered that Fabrice Vavemi Lena, Secretary General of Peoples Action Party, an opposition party in Cameroon was nominated to take part under the category of Governance and Government Agencies.
Reacting to the nomination, Lena said
“I have been nominated for under Forty African Awards scheduled for March 2023 at Cape Town South Africa.
Category: Government and Government Agencies.”
Appealing for support from Cameroonians, Lena said, “Thank you very much for the support, Let’s do this, let’s bring it back home Cameroon “
